About Peter Krebs
After 20+ years at Microsoft as a Documentation and Training Manager, Program Manager, and Solution Developer, I retired with the goal of becoming a solar farmer in the Pacific Northwest. Buy some land, put some solar panels on it, tie the system to the grid and start collecting revenue. What could go wrong? In pursuit of my goal, I’ve spent the better part of 2023 and 2024 researching solar energy in the Pacific Northwest. I've completed a certification program in Solar Business and Technical Sales with the industry-leading Solar Energy International. I researched and learned solar energy design software like Aurora Solar. And most recently, I spent a week in Paonia, Colorado building solar arrays, including roof mounted, ground-mounted, and ballast systems. Real hands-on and hard-hat stuff. And now I’m ready for my next step in my solar journey where I can apply my newfound solar skills. - Microsoft (2000-2023) I served in a variety of roles managing and building high-performance teams delivering value to Microsoft customers. Highlights include developing Microsoft 365 Learning Pathways, one of the top SharePoint Open-Source solutions with over 3 million active users. In addition, I pioneered Training and Adoption Programs for Microsoft Unified Communications and Microsoft 365 for Fortune 500 companies worldwide. Customers praised our innovative approach to "fast-adoption" with quick, customizable video playlist and easy-to-use How-to application.- Krebs Recycle LLC - Co-founded (with my wife) Krebs Recycle, a new concept featuring upcycled manufacturing, taking retired climbing rope and fashioning it into dog leashes. As a startup in our garage, we grew the company into a national brand with our products placed in retail pet stores throughout the U.S. Starting from scratch, we sourced recycled materials, developed the design and manufacturing process, developed a national sales channel, and built an online and ecommerce presence – including an Amazon store on Sales Central. Krebs Recycle products were industry darlings and were featured on ABC News, and in the Seattle Times, Oregonian, and Outside Magazine. After 12 years of year-over-year growth, we sold the company for a price the over the initial valuation. Krebs Recycle products are still available and the new owner has retained the brand and designs. In fact, I still walk our dog with a Krebs Recycle Leash today and see the Krebs Recycle leashes all over the Seattle area.

o-founder of Krebs Recycle, a successful startup company that upcycles retired climbing rope into dog leashes.
