I have recently retired from education and am in the process of writing a book on visible educational leadership. I also work as a provincial trainer for Behaviour Management Systems. I most recently served as the principal of a Canadian International School in Belgium. The school supports the children of Canadian military and NATO partner members. As a principal, I have always focused on visible school leadership, living and learning by the motto: "You can't lead what you don't notice." I am the Lead Learner in my school. I am passionate about modern learning and defining what that means for our students. I am keenly interested in technology-enabled teaching, leading and learning. I focus on working with staff, students and the school community to foster relationships and improve student achievement and well-being. I provide ongoing professional development.I was the recipient of The Learning Partnership's 2015 "Canada's Outstanding Principal" Award. I am a former TedxEd speaker. I have spoken locally, provincially and internationally on a variety of topics including "The Past, Present and Future of Education", "The Connected Leader" and "School Visioning for the 21st Century". I have led and moderated online talks, chats and webinars and am actively connected to thousands of educators on social media.From July 2016 until August 2018, I worked as French Second Language Lead for The Upper Grand DSB. My main task was to lead the implementation and prepare our system for changes to French Immersion registration that started September 2017, and monitor, manage and review these changes.I will publish my first book on visible school leadership with CodeBreakerEdu in 2022.
