This position's offer was accepted in May of 2020, enabling my professional transition into Merck as a full-time employee in the Department of Emulsions (DE). Initially, I was introduced to the company through the Department of Lyophilization as a temporary contractor through Astrix Technology Solutions. This served as a developmental period where I gained true understanding of vaccinology and manufacturing as a whole. My current role revolved around processing, formulating, manufacturing, and producing a variety of vaccines in aseptic environment. Since my starting date, I have been validated as a USDA Sampler, working as a liaison for Merck and the USDA to fulfill production requirements. I am on track in fulfilling Phase I-IV training to qualify myself as a Subject Matter Expert (SME). I was able to successfully lead a compliance initiative in DE where I fostered efforts to restructure and re-standardize all respective lab areas, tank systems, and chemical storage. This led to beginning a major project for improving emulsification through technological variation of the current emulsifier in use. I have become well-versed in QA/QC compliance, as well as industrial scale SAP transaction processes required to support the department. Recently, I finished my final revision for a 'Probe Preparation' PPM project which I led in order to establish site-wide standardization for preparation of probes for all of DE's products and processes.
