About Peter J. Weinberg

Dr. Peter J. Weinberg holds over 30 years of experience as a professional in psychology. He was a treatment provider and clinical director who developed and directed mental health programs in Vermont, Connecticut, and Colorado. His leadership and reputation as an advocate for expanding our understanding of mental health and well-being led to a gubernatorial appointment to the Colorado Autism Commission by Governor Bill Ritter, Jr. Dr. Weinberg was chair of the strategic development committee. Dr. Weinberg's history of advocacy includes work with the Colorado Legislature and the Colorado Trial Lawyers Association on mental health issues. Over the past 15 years Dr. Weinberg focused on bringing psychology to litigation strategy through Litigare Litigation Consulting and as an Advisory Board member (past) for PsychoLAWgy. Litigare was founded in 2009 by Dr. Weinberg. The company’s overall success rate (2009-2023) was 92%. Part of that success was credited to the application of evidence-based research as the cornerstone for strategy. It was the perfect blend between theory and application. That understanding lead Dr. Weinberg to create a strategy that detailed the process to present PTSD as a permanent physical injury through codified scientific evidence. Dr. Weinberg expanded upon his PTSD strategy and developed strategies for: • Chronic Pain • Sleep Deprivation• Anxiety• DepressionAs a past advisory board member for PsychoLAWgy, Dr. Weinberg made recommendations on bringing psychology to settlements and litigation in the Latin American court system. Dr. Weinberg has focused on the partnership between education and human development. He engages in this process as a consultant, trainer, and expert for for-profit and not-for-profit businesses on multiple topics including creating mentally healthy systems. Dr. Weinberg is also an adjunct faculty member for the University of Denver’s Graduate School of Professional Psychology where he instructs for the Forensic Psychology and Psy.D. programs. His focus is human perception, mental models of decision making, and the psychology behind persuasion. Currently, Dr. Weinberg is the interim CEO for Direct Access Mental Health. This organization’s mission is to expand the understanding of mental health / well-being. The view of what positively and negatively affects mental health / well-being is too narrow. This restricted view contributes to inequity and mental health difficulties because every interaction has a positive, neutral, or negative impact; every facet of life touches well-being and mental health.

Our mission is simple: expand the understanding of mental health. Our vision: A society where everyone understands that every system, every interaction has a positive, neutral or negative effect on mental health and mental well-being. Everyone of these interactions shapes ideas, views, and self-perception. Direct Access was founded on the principle that mental health / mental well-being is a human right and nothing should restrict that right. This organization’s mission is to expand the understanding of mental health and well-being. Currently, the view of what positively and negatively affects mental health / well-being is too narrow. This restricted view contributes to inequity and mental health difficulties because every interaction has a positive, neutral, or negative impact; every facet of life touches well-being and mental health. We are tackling the problem through a multi-stage approach: Phase One. Our first phase, active now, is a series of products/services that equip for-profit and non-profit organizations with the tools they need to reduce the increasing mental health issues affecting our society and economy. What our products do, is provide clear and effective research-based tools that slow the flow and reduce the demands for mental health services. Phase Two. Clearly, there is a deep demand for treatment professionals. Phase 2 is designed to correct the issues that insurance has caused with accessing quality mental health care.

Every trial lawyer knows the perils of the great case worth millions. Every trial lawyer also knows what happens when that great case slips away because of unforeseen circumstances. When asked about Lītigāre’s success, Dr. Weinberg replied that “Every case, like every person, is different which keeps things in flux. Because of this, there is no one sure fire technique to settlement or trial. When we understand how our cases, like people, interact in the world then we can win”. This is where we specialize. We understand how to navigate the legal and psychological nuances by molding evidence-based science and sound litigation techniques into customized litigation strategy. Our process begins with an intensive legal and psychological diagnostic and concludes with a complete litigation strategy.
