I provided transportation engineering and transportation planning services to developers, institutions, and government agencies, mostly in the DC area.I consulted on the design of many prominent DC-area redevelopment projects, including the Walter Reed National Military Medical Center at NSA Bethesda Expansion, Southwest Waterfront Redevelopment (PN Hoffman), Kennedy Center South Plaza Expansion, Union Square Feasibility Study (Architect of the Capitol), Maryland Avenue Reconfiguration (AOC / Supreme Court), RFK Stadium Redevelopment (Events DC), Lower Zoo Entry Reconfiguration (SI National Zoo), and the Walter Reed Local Redevelopment Authority Reuse Plan.I also served as the lead analyst on several travel demand research projects, most notably the data collection phase of DC's Residential Parking, On-Street Parking, and Trip Generation Studies, and have conducted multimodal travel projections for over 60 clients, including the National Coalition to Save Our Mall (National Mall Underground garage), Simon Property Group (Woodbury Common Premium Outlets), Georgetown University (decennial campus master plan), and the Washington 2024 Olympic Bid Committee.

I worked towards a masters degree in transportation engineering while doing research and teaching the surveying lab.As a GTA, my responsibilities revolved around teaching up to 96 students per semester while performing grading, tutoring, and course administration. In my third and final semester of teaching, I served as the lead TA for the course and trained my replacement.As a GRA, my research specialization was in urban mass transit and transportation planning, although my studies covered many other areas of transportation systems including traffic flow, signal design, infrastructure systems, condition assessment, and transportation safety. In addition to studying transit and planning objectives like scheduling, system design, and ITS implementations, my thesis dealt with pedestrian behaviors in ambulatory facilities like escalators and moving walkways.

I started as a Tiger Cub when I was in kindergarten in 1992 and eventually worked my way through the program, becoming an Eagle Scout in 2001. Along the way, I held all manner of leadership roles, up to and including Senior Patrol Leader and Junior Assistant Scoutmaster.Although I was relatively young when I earned my Eagle, I decided to stay with the troop in primarily advisory roles, and I'm really glad I did. In addition to having a great time myself, it was great to be able to help guide young scouts through a program that had given me so much.Even after aging out of the troop when I turned 18, I continued to serve as an Assistant Scoutmaster to Troop 720 and as an Associate Advisor to Crew 720 when in Richmond.
