OEM Gaming and Product Design & Development

-Responsible for reviewing, documenting and communicating all Hardware Engineering items that affect the output of daily production.-Supported pilot runs and actively provided support to other areas of operations (Training, Production, Quality, Safety and Shipping) to ensure efficient integration of new items into production. -Provided engineering solutions to problems that arose during the manufacturing process, enhancing productivity and product quality.-Planned and coordinated NPI (New Product Introduction) projects.-Reviewed designs and provided input to engineering to ensure design for manufacturability.-Designed, prototyped and assisted manufacturing in setting up lines and cells to build new and existing products, using lean manufacturing practices. -Developed custom algorithms to compare manufacturing bill of materials (imported from MAPICs).-Created and used custom queries in MAPICs to aid in manufacturing product structure identification.-Provided detailed assembly instructions to Games and Systems Training for use in mixed model assembly.

-Interacted with corporate executives providing business, sales, engineering and manufacturing support.-Provided process based operating methods to create a productive work environment.-Managed engineering staff and advised production staff.-Organized projects from prototype to full production (simple brackets to full BOM slot machines).-Worked with corporate CFO in developing pricing and quoting methods.-Provided pricing and lead time to customers and account executives.-Responsible for ERP Bill of Materials and Mfg. Routings as well as Engineering Documentation Control.-Provided sheet metal manufacturing expertise to aid in Lean Manufacturing.

-Co-founded First Class Finishing, which purchased Custom Powder Coat of Nevada.CPC provides powder coating services to a variety of local manufacturers ranging from:gaming, casinos, signs, ATV/Auto and construction companies.-Set up five stage chemical pre-treat system.-Set up manufacturing process flow for batch system and trained employees.-Applied lessons learned in heat transfer, thermodynamics and chemistry directly to the manufacturing process. -Sold out of business in 2008 and relocated to Michigan.

-Founded Laser Cutting Solutions. LCS provided precision cutting services to local manufacturers. LCS processed 0.010” to 0.500” thick steel, aluminum, stainless and plastic at tight tolerances.-Programmed, operated and maintained 3000 watt Amada Laser with Fanuc controller.-Set up processes and trained employees to run business without my direct involvement.-Moved entire operation from Las Vegas to Henderson in 2005.-Sold business in 2007 to start new venture

-Co-founded Sheet Metal Solutions (a contract manufacturer of precision sheet metal parts).Manufactured precision parts for gaming, electronic enclosure and related companies.-Provided Player Tracking Brackets for all Stations and MGM/Mirage properties.-Responsible for machinery and tooling purchases, installation, training and maintenance.-Oversaw all product design and manufacturing engineering related items: CAD/CAM (Solidworks, 3D Solid Models Assemblies, Parts, Drawings), CNC programming, bend allowances, document control, etc.-Developed job tracking system, work order system, and just-in-time manufacturing process.-Interfaced with customers regarding sales, engineering and quality related concerns.-Sold out of company in 2004 to start new venture.

-Manufactured sheet metal disk drive enclosures and computer related products.-Chairman of Design Standards Committee (process reduction, cost reduction).-Insured bill of material accuracy for costing and manufacturability.-Responsive to production problems on manufacturing floor.-Incorporated sheet metal design changes to engineering drawings using Pro/E and Acad.-Created three dimensional parametric models of sheet metal enclosures using Pro/E.

-Digitized and modeled a Ford 2.0 liter four cylinder engine for structural and NVH analysis.-Updated a Ford diesel engine model from solid elements to shell elements for acoustical analysis.-Modeled and crash simulated Ford commercial vehicles (contracted on-site at Ford Motor Company).-Modeled HVAC units for Ford climate control division for computational fluid dynamic analysis.-Modeled a General Motors exhaust manifold for structural and NVH analysis.-Modeled and analyzed a Chrysler wheel cover for elastic deformation.

-Administered plant safety and headed safety committee.-Evaluated imaging systems and their capabilities to inspect defective parts.-Researched lubrication characteristics and friction factors for forging tools.-Presented finite element forging simulation results to corporate forging divisions.-Benchmarked forging simulation software (ANTARES).-Simulated new and existing forging designs and provided design development assistance.-Verified the integrity of forgings by evaluating finite element output.
