About Peter Lane

Dedicated non-profit leader and major gifts officer with a track record of visionary growth, building out new development programs at the local, regional, and national levels. Volunteer turned professional fundraiser. Successfully launched $15 million comprehensive campaign, securing $9 million in first year, leading to transformational impact. Previously spent 10+ years in IT Enterprise Sales, Marketing, and Recruiting with middle-stage start-ups.In my last role I designed and implemented a five-year comprehensive fundraising strategy (dream-vision) that led to the largest growth of donors, donations, and retention of donors in the organization's 68-year history, resulting in the successful launch of a $15 million capital campaign. Under my leadership we rebranded content creation for a 12-page publication, tripling distribution and increasing the donor-engagement funnel. I developed experiential donor events, increasing brand-loyalty and building advocacy. Even amid the uncertainty of a global pandemic under my leadership we raised more money than the year before, steadying the organization, resulting in exponential growth each of the following two years. Carpe Diem has been a mantra of mine ever since seeing The Dead Poets' Society (Top 3 movie). During the pandemic, my wife and 3-year-old reimagined everything, and opted for a year of living in a custom-made tiny-house-on-wheels, criss-crossing the country to see America's National Parks, at a time when being outside was the ONLY thing we could do. We worked remotely during the day, and spent afternoons on hikes around Zion National Park, Groundhog Day in a vintage Bombardier sledding through Yellowstone, and early morning sunrises at Arcadia N.P. as the first sunlight reached the U.S. We visited 34 states, traveling 28,000 miles, hitting more than 20 National Parks/ Monuments. Leading a more intentional life we downsized our housing footprint, to upsize our lifestyle, embarking on not only a financial freedom journey, but the adventure of a lifetime! "GET ACTION." - Theodore Roosevelt is one of my greatest hero's. He was a man of action, and this simple quote embodies all that I strive to be.
