As a senior software engineer I have been primarily working on the Situational Awareness Visualization and Analytics project, a big data risk reduction effort sponsored by ONR through PMW 120. I was also lending my talents in various aspects of the Magic Mirror project (GWT, JavaScript, Google Map Plugin, REST, Hibernate, PostgreSQL) as well as other projects. I led the effort to develop the METOC Annotation Widget (GWT, JavaScript, REST, Geoserver, PostgreSQL, drawing via API to the NASA WorldWind 3D Map).

Throughout my time at SAIC I have been a team leader, designed, developed, and maintained multiple applications and J2EE web-based projects using Java, Groovy, JSP, JavaScript, Servlets, Java Beans, CSS, XML, Jython, Python, C# (.NET), C++, Aspect-J and shell scripts (sh, bash, csh). I have worked on or led projects that range in size from a few team members to many team members from various companies and/or organizations. I have worked with the graphical user interface as well as the business logic and data storage layers. Projects have included web applications, EJBs, stand-alone and client/server applications. I have participated in various projects that required: requirements review, object-oriented design, testing, maintenance, formal software reviews, cross-platform capability, source code and configuration management systems and have followed CMMI-driven process.

I was part of a 20 person team and participated in all phases of the software design process for the Army’s Joint Readiness Training Center project. I defined interaction between existing components within the project and coordinated data storage and retrieval for various software components within the Manual Entry Group. Developed user interfaces in Ada for the Indirect Fire and Manual Entry dialog boxes which interacted with multiple workstations and the Oracle database. Team member in identifying information exchange requirements and performing requirements tracking.

Worked as a software engineer using Ada on the Wing Command and Control System for the Air Force. Designed and developed Ada modules used for real-time viewing/creating/updating of Air Tasking Orders and other documents relating to the operations that a Wing Commander manages. Applications involved the design of graphical user interfaces (GUIs), database interaction, and real-time programming. Coordinated technical activities with team leader. Monitored technical review board. Reported status or technical issues to the team leader. Built and tested portable deployment systems for the WCCS project by preparing hardware and software for field operation. This involved installing equipment into ruggedized containers, installing software, and building/testing cables. Worked closely with members of the Air Force to procure supplies and conduct work. Worked as a programmer using Pascal on the ASWCS Multi-Configuration Environment Simulator (AMES) (where ASWCS was Antisubmarine Warfare Control System).
