Peter L. Chan, President of Young Professionals in Energy Edmonton, Board of Directors for Industrial Power Consumers Association of Alberta (IPCAA) is a Professional Engineer practicing in Edmonton, Canada. As a Manager of Energy Management Contracts for Enbridge Pipelines Inc., he is responsible for the commercial and technical management of electrical utility infrastructure across Canada. Currently, the group manages over $1 Billion per year in power costs and power infrastructure assets in Canada and U.S. Prior to his career at Enbridge, Peter held technical and business positions including Protection & Controls engineer and business development at ABB Canada Inc.In addition to his professional career, Peter actively contributes back to his community. Peter volunteers for a number of not-for-profit organizations. These include the Young Professionals in Energy, Anne Burrows Music Foundation, APEGA and Alberta Judo Association. Peter is the current president for Young Professionals in Energy. The recent YPE events he led include Pub night with Jim Carter, retired COO and President of Syncrude and leadership dinner with Pat Daniel, retired CEO of Enbridge. Peter holds an MBA and an electrical engineering degree from the University of Alberta. Peter has a black belt in Judo and competes in Judo competitions.
