Research in vacuum technology for the Future Circular Collider. Specifically, I measured the performance of beam screen prototypes in the synchrotron radiation environment of a particle accelerator.I also worked on simulations of saturation propagation in NEG-coated UHV systems and developed tools that are being used at e.g. Diamond Light Source, Elettra Sincrotrone Trieste, and for the SOLEIL Synchrotron Upgrade.

I participated in the Poland Mars Analogue Simulation 2017 as a Records Officer in the Mission Support Centre. In addition to being Records Officer, I also acted as temporary Capsule Communicator.The mission objective of the Poland Mars Analogue Simulation 2017 (PMAS 2017) was to perform a realistic simulation of a manned Lunar and Martian mission, including an analogue astronaut crew in full isolation with time-delayed communication with the Mission Support Centre (MSC).The most significant outcome of this mission was to assess the systems, capabilities, and operations used to explore Mars, evaluating their sustainability and efficiency requring little or no support from Earth.The simulation mission was run by the Space Exploration Project Group, which is a sub-group of the Space Generation Advisory Council in support of the United Nations Office On Space Applications. More than a dozen partners were involved, including The Mars Society, European Space Agency, and European Space Foundation.The main objectives of this simulation were:1. To evaluate the performance of astronauts conducting geologic fieldwork2. Applications of technologies to support human activities on a planetary surface3. Controlled investigations and experiments in psychology and human factors4. Studies of plant growth on Martian soil simulants5. Astronomical studiesThe Records Officer (RO) is the person responsible for logging of all mission events. This includes all communcation between the analogue astronauts in the Habitat and the Mission Support Centre, as well as briefings and other events within the MSC.The Records Officer thus works in close contact with the Flight Director and the Capsule Communicator.
