Leading collaborations with healthcare providers, community leaders, and other stakeholders to design innovative clinical and community programs, healthcare delivery, and payment systems that provide all Californians access to value-based, high-quality, and affordable care.

Led grant making foundation focused on health policy, improving care at community health centers and ending domestic violence in California. Managed a 25-person staff and $35+ million annual budget.

Initiated and directed the Foundation’s U.S. global health policy analysis initiative with external funding. Supervised human resources department and oversaw the development and implementation of the annual budget and spending plan. Served as Corporate Secretary to the Board of Trustees. Provided research and strategic guidance to the President and CEO.

Led the Foundation’s advocacy efforts to secure health insurance coverage for all children in California. Managed a $50-million grant making program designed to achieve changes in public policy at state level. Co-managed the development of a 10-year strategic plan for the organization and the relationship with external strategic consultants. Facilitated the development of multi-year regional work plans for five regional offices. Participated in a wide range of organizational knowledge management and learning activities.

Managed 51 staff members in six departments that provided more than 11,000 medical, dental, WIC, counseling, and health promotion services annually to low-income patients in Santa Clara County. Administered $2.8 million annual budget. Supervised all aspects of center’s administration including human resources, contract compliance, and facility operations.

Established and managed the Public Health Interventions through Legislative Advocacy (PHILA) program for the leading health care advocacy network in South Africa during its transition to democracy. Served on the management team for NPPHCN, a national network of 1,100 health and development projects, programs, and individuals committed to the implementation of the Primary Health Care (PHC) approach in South Africa.
