I worked for Day Cooper Day for just over a year form January 2016 till April 2017 working very closely with Patrick Day the owner. I also worked very closely with the Managing Director Sonia Day as well as Tom Cooper the actuary for the pension company.Day Cooper Day Specialise in Small Self Administered Pension Schemes. As well as understanding all the principal's of pension lending. (Both connected and Non connected Lending) I still have an excellent relationship with Day Cooper Day and my own point of contact within the Day Cooper Day offices in London who assists me with all the SSAS pensions I currently advise with them. Working at Grosvenor Financial Consultants gave me a wide variety of industry experiences. I worked predominately in business development and the lending activities of GFC.At GFC I developed my industry knowledge and contacts and worked closely with some of the largest SIPP (Self Invested Personal Pension) pension providers on large lending projects such as Raithwaite Hall, Doncaster Airport Workpods and a host of smaller development projects.The experience at GFC highlighted the risks involved in large lending projects and the experience to advise clients on the positives and negatives of lending as an investment option.

On leaving Aviva I set up my first business PDLunanFilm. This company was a creative video company, working for companies such as Universal Music, Reebok and Pretty Green clothing.Working for myself gave me lots of opportunity to develop a wide variety of skills for the future. Many of these skills were very useful in setting up Bootham Pensions and Investments, including branding, marketing, business admin and the need to develop business in order to earn a living.Although I throughly enjoyed video making and the lifestyle it offered I never got to a point where I was making enough money to make it a true career. The feeling of failure at not being able to make a business work has never left me and it is a key driver in making anything I do in future successful. I kept many of the equipment that I bought over the years and still enjoy photography as a creative outlet.

Aviva was my first "proper job" post university although prior to Aviva I work for both Marks and Spencer PLC and Tesco PLC in customer service roles.At Aviva or Norwich Union as it was before it rebranded in 2009 I started my examinations in order to become a fully qualified Financial Advisor. Completing my Chartered Institute of Insurance Certificates in Financial Planning.At Aviva I worked in the Agency and Commission department supporting financial advisors who used the Aviva insurance products.I enjoyed working at Aviva and it did give me a good insight into working at a large blue chip financial services company although I did grow restless at the top down style of management that left me feeling unable to strive to achieve more personally.This led me to leave Aviva and start my own videography business.
