Until I retired at the end of January 2023 I was a Regulatory, Gambling and Licensing Law specialist solicitor advising clients in all matters involving litigation, licensing and gambling. My specialism in Licensing and Gambling Law is recognised by the Legal 500. I act for all types of licensed premises including pubs, hotels, restaurants, late night refreshment outlets, cinemas, theatres, casinos and other gambling establishments (remote and non-remote). The Legal 500 2019 describes me as having ‘a deep specialism in licensing and gambling’, ‘always very quick to respond’ and having ‘a number of contacts within the industry which usually helps to get things moving’. previously issues have said I am ‘a consummate professional' who ‘listens to what the client wants'.That's what I used to do. Now I'm open to other opportunities and suggestions! NED roles included. I am looking to develop a Portfolio career to use transferable skillsSpecialties: Commercial dispute resolution for business to business problems of all types. Licensing and Gambling Law for applicants and providing training courses to local authorities and others on these areas. Social Club Law : All aspectsOther: In 2016 I was invited to give evidence before the House of Lords Select Committee on the review of the Licensing Act. In 2010 I established CherryPick networking group for suppliers to the Licensed Trade which i ran until 2019. I have a large established network of business and professional connections. I was the winner of Networker of the Year at the City of Birmingham Business Awards 2018.
