Since leaving Google's Platforms group in late 2015, I have been working on back end, developer facing components for Project Stream and the recently released Stadia streaming games platform. Given the confidential nature of this project, I have kept this job change quiet, but am very happy to be able to disclose my work on Stadia!

Senior Software Engineer in Platforms, developing internal software to keep the tubes flowing.

Incorporated SAML 2.0 SSO support into the Mediasite suite. R&D relating to comprehensive full text search capabilities.

Developed data access and business layer for customer community and marketing analysis and acquisition web application. Implemented natural language processing algorithms, neural network based categorization and k-means clustering algorithms. Worked with Lucene and Solr to integrate full text search capabilities into the application, both for client facing features as well as data mining and pattern discovery. Collaborated on designs for large scale data mining workflow using Apache Hadoop along with Cascading. Covered a variety of technologies, including Java, JDBC, Apache, Tomcat, MySQL, PostgreSQL, Lucene, SOLR, Hadoop, Spring Framework, and IBatis.

Developing database driven .Net Windows Forms and ASP.Net web applications for the Mediasite rich media presentation management platform. Built a system for collection and processing of user auditing data via a custom, unmanaged Windows Media Server plugin tied to a managed web service. Updated and expanded internal reporting system, including support for custom reports and incorporated reporting engine into existing management portal. Refactored data access layer using domain driven design concepts. Designed and developed expression tree based rich search capability before availability of LINQ.

Designed and maintained build scripts and user installers for consumer and professional software, using a variety of technologies, including Microsoft MSI, makefiles, Python scripts, custom C/C++ tools and Installshield suite. Maintained specialized C/C++ application library providing user registration and anti piracy support. Designed and developed interop plug-in to transcode multichannel audio into Dolby Digital AC-3 format, and to downmix AC-3 streams into 2 channel stereo audio.

Maintained specialized C/C++ application library providing user registration and anti piracy support. Part of an effort to migrate software source control from a custom system to Perforce. Designed and enforced source control branch and release policies.

Internship position, later full time working on DOS based braille authoring and transcription WYSIWYG application written using Borland C. Developed custom print drivers to support accurate visual print representation of braille for sighted proofreaders. Assisted throughout organization, including IT (networking, data migration, workstation maintenance and upgrades), trade shows, operations, customer support and marketing.
