Contract role in the Prosecutions Branch. Regular appearances as an advocate before the Local and District Courts in proceedings under the Road Transport Act 2013 and Heavy Vehicle (Adoption of National Law) Act 2013.

Part of the in-house legal team conducting prosecutions under the UK Anti-Doping Rules and providing commercial legal advice to junior and senior (including Directors, the CEO and CFO) stakeholders across the business. Highlights include:• Assisting in the prosecution of high-profile British athletes, including appearing as an advocate in short matters before the National Anti-Doping Panel, and drafting final decisions for publication• Maintaining the organisation’s compliance with requests under the Freedom of Information Act 2000, including the preparation of responses published on the UKAD website (see https://www.ukad.org.uk/information-request?year=2019)• Ensuring the organisation met regulatory requirements for procurement of external services, including information security and laboratory analysis services• Providing legal advice across the organisation on commercial agreements, data protection and privacy (under both UK and European Union law). Achievements included negotiating a sample-collection and testing agreement with a major international agency and testing agreements for major sporting events in the UK

Contract roles in between travelling throughout Europe. Roles involved analysing information produced under discovery in regulatory investigations (both for a regulatory authority and respondents) to identify legal issues, relevance and privilege, as well as the provision of evidentiary summaries.

Management of medical practitioners’ compliance with practice condition imposed to protect public safety, including conditions related to sexual boundaries and prescribing of drugs of addiction. Role included the regular review of evidence and preparation of breach reports for the Board with recommended action.

Conducting the prosecution of criminal matters before the Local, District and Supreme Courts of NSW, including instructing counsel in trials, appearing as an advocate in short matters and negotiating appropriate charges for committal. Achievements include:• Effectively maintaining a large volume of matters whilst ensuring compliance with court orders, procedural rules and prosecution guidelines• Managing high-profile matters the subject of media scrutiny with sensitivity and confidentiality• Establishing effective working relationships with senior counsel and senior members of the NSW Police • Preparation of high-level advice for consideration by the Director and Assistant Directors • Always placing victims at the forefront of my work and engaging with empathy and compassion, whilst ensuring protections such sexual assault communications privilege are maintained• Successfully appearing in matters before the District Court, including bail applications, sentences matters (for such offences as reckless wounding and drug manufacture) and appeals from the Local Court
