As part of the fixed income trading and analytics group in charge of the architecture and development of Lehman's strategic derivative trading systems utilizing complex event processing technology.

Reported to the global technology heads of credit, emerging markets and CIB&M architecture.Proposed, architected and the development manager for the award winning global trade processing/routing system (The Barracuda Project) that was written up in HSBC annual report for its technological innovation, business streamlining and as a massive cost reduction initiative. Won four major awards including “European Bank Awards – Best Trading System 2007”, “AFTAS – Best Cross Asset Trading Initiative 2007”, “HSBC Most innovative Trading System 2007”, “HSBC Best Application 2006” and it was the only trading system mentioned in HSBC’s annual report.Created a global organization to support and develop the trade processing system utilizing resources from Asia, UK, US and India.Developed of a high performance complex event processing system based on RETE technology and a distributed XML caching system which has been packaged for utilization in at least ten other projects.Deployed the platform as a global bond and CDS post trade capture system. Error rate reduced from over 70% to less than 5% coupled with a cost savings > $20MM. All regions linked together.Designed the strategy to remove Bloomberg as the primary bond trading system.Established a global development model built around a CMS so that all stakeholders are an active part of the development process from requirements to production. The Barracuda system is the central part of the HSBC small site strategy to cover all of HSBC’s small trading locations globally as well as a central part of HSBC’s cost saving initiative and global STP project. Developed numerous high-level relationships across the firm that included working with other global technologists and key business leaders to standardize and develop business solutions that are multi-asset.

Managed a multi-year, $5-7MM endeavor to replace all foreign exchange trading systems with an advanced, 24x7 system that will support trading, sales, middle office and prime brokerageManaged the development of a mortgage trading system for Bear’s trading, sales and operations staff. Executed a thorough review of all components and requirements, completed development and successfully launchedLed the effort to bring all of fixed income technology into Sarbanes-Oxley compliance. This included upgrading dozens of applications, extensive security upgrades and upgrading fixed income’s entire database infrastructure.Managed e-commerce for the fixed income desks.

Architected, directed the development and implementation of a $30 million global equity principal and agency trading system. Developed a core agency and principal trading system, pricing and quote engines, order router with access to all European and US exchanges, multi-currency and multi-entity position and risk management system, web based reporting tools, Windows NT trader desktop, Oracle OLTP and data warehouse. Responsible for managing NDB’s technology group supporting NDB’s market making business which consisted of several hundred traders located at separate locations in the US.

Developed a two person partnership into a twenty-five person, $5 million per year corporation that performed numerous services including project management, strategic consulting, web based software development and data warehousing. Principal owner of twelve software copyrights. Developed a sophisticated medical record management system. Co-authored the business plan, implemented the prototype at Columbia Medical Center, developed several patentable business models, raised several million dollars from angel investors and recruited several high profile physicians.

Designed and implemented a money market trading, sales and risk systems on SunOS in C++, Java and Sybase 4.9.2. Developed the plan to move an existing CMO/Corporate Risk system with over 200 users into a fully monitored, source controlled reproducible environment.

Complete responsibility for designing and implementing new tools and procedures that enhanced and reduced the development cycle for over forty developers. Implemented Netview/6000 as a management tool for J. Aron’s worldwide TCP/IP network.
