Building, Business, and building a business are in Peter’s blood. As a 4th generation construction professional, Peter and his brother grew up in the family construction business in the Boston area, and later worked as a carpenter for various remodeling companies in San Francisco and the Hudson Valley region.After graduating from the University of Michigan with a BA in History, Peter continued working in construction, ranging from high rises to historic restorations to remodeling projects. Next came extensive travel in Asia and teaching English in Taiwan. Peter returned to the U.S. to earn a Masters Degree in education and became a teacher at the Waldorf School of Atlanta.In 2001, Peter “retired” from teaching, and combined his extensive and varied work experience into a new endeavor: Renewal Design-Build, an Atlanta-based home remodeling company. Peter built Renewal into one of Atlanta's premier home renovation companies, where he and his team completed hundreds of home remodeling projects, earned more than 60 awards for design, craftsmanship and customer service, and consistently ranked top 5 in the annual Atlanta Business Chronicle. In 2018, while researching better ways to serve Renewal’s clients and manage his business, Peter discovered Alair Homes. Alair brings an entirely new business model to the residential construction industry, providing the backbone of support, services and branding to propel a custom business forward. He was impressed with the company’s unique and transparent approach to the construction process and commitment to unparalleled customer satisfaction. In 2018, Renewal was transformed into Alair Homes Decatur, and Peter and his brother, David, became Alair Regional Partners for metro Atlanta and north Georgia.As Regional Partner, Peter identifies the best independent remodelers and custom home builders in North Georgia who are also looking to grow their businesses with the systems and support of Alair, while thrilling their clients and having a greater balance in their personal lives. For those who make the cut, the opportunities are endless.In addition to his professional role, Peter is heavily involved in coaching youth baseball, and recently served as President of the Rotary Club of Decatur. He is a former board member of The Waldorf School of Atlanta, and a former Advisory Board member of the Lifecycle Building Center. Peter is also a home remodeling Certified Aging-in-Place Specialist.
