Toronto, Canada: Lead an analysis team working with US P&C subject matter experts to elicit and model the requirements for a new workflow-driven P&C policy administration system. Effectively used Optimal Trace to build extensive use case models of the entire underwriting and policy administration process. In parallel, used an agile, feature-driven approach to provide user requirements during the development of an innovative, repository-based MDA tool to dynamically render workflow-driven runtime systems. Overcame challenging circumstances to successfully generate demonstration systems for sales prospects using the partially complete MDA tool and a subset of the P&C requirements models. Lead authority on usage of Enterprise Architect and Optimal Trace and modelling guru to all projects within the company.

Toronto & Vancouver, Canada: Toronto & Vancouver, Canada: Lead a team of analysts to create use cases and other UML artifacts to model existing "core" functionality of SunGard's P&C policy admin system using Optimal Trace and Enterprise Architect. Successfully implemented an improved requirements gathering methodology during the implementation of the system for a large Canadian insurer. Effectively mentored the analysis and QA team in using the new approach and the core models as the basis for their gap analysis. Dramatically improved quality, completeness and effectiveness of requirements and QA documentation and improved the working relationship with the client.Toronto & Winnipeg, Canada: Assisted large Canadian insurer in developing and implementing a UP-based methodology using Caliber RM and Rational Rose.

Toronto, Canada & Des Moines, Iowa, US: Provided modelling and document production requirements for an in-house insurance modelling tool (IMT). Defined a new standard analysis methodology (based loosely on RUP and using UML artifacts) to be used in conjunction with the IMT. Successfully piloted and refined the IMT and its methodology during the requirements gathering and modelling phases of a web-based, workflow-driven, incentive compensation management system with the Farm Bureau of Iowa. Facilitated workshops with business practitioners to elicit and model requirements. Iteratively elaborated and refined UML business models to fully articulate the business requirements through to sign-off and converted initially sceptical clients into champions of the new system.

London, UK: Lead solution modeller on a web-based, workflow-driven, global P&C assumed reinsurance system using a proprietory BPM methodology. Participated in client-focused workshops in UK and US to elicit requirements. Successfully modelled and designed workflow solutions for a front-office underwriting submissions system, back-office underwriting and accounting support system and a claims management system. Liaised with development team during the build and implementation of the solution.

London, UK: Design authority for a P&C assumed & ceded reinsurance administration system. Initially analyst/designer on the original development project to build a London market P&C assumed & ceded reinsurance system. Used SSADM methodology to model the logical and physical data and process models. System developed in a 4GL over an Oracle RDMS running on a UNIX platform.Ultimately responsible for the design of core functionality and for design approval of client bespoke functionality during implementations. Implemented the system for 20 clients, initially in the UK but also developed additional North American market functionality for clients in the US and Bermuda. Lead a team of designers and developers to build-out all additional core functionality.
