The Center for Occupational Research and Development is a respected national leader in post-secondary technical and trades education and training. They are national leaders in developing curriculum and instituting cutting edge education programs in the area of CTE and STEM education and training. They have taken the bold move to start a division of their organization to specifically aid the incarcerated and those involved in reentry from jails or prisons. I am most fortunate to be involved in the management of this new national division.

We assess the treatment needs of individuals suffering from Substance Use Disorder (SUD). We operate a co-occurring long-term 1 year Intensive outpatient treatment program that provides personal and group treatment to individuals for both substance use disorder and mental health counseling along with career development and life planning that is needed to become happy and successful while at the same time controlling this wicked illness. We engage in 1 on 1 counseling, group counseling, life and career planning and modern therapeutic co-occurring treatment modalities. We have a 30+ year history of successful long-term recovery because we do not give up on people, even when they struggle. Our program is funded by donations and is provided to all in need for free. We help provide clean and sober living residence during the program which is a significant aid to our success.

Greater Seattle Area

We advocate development of gainful careers for inmates during incarceration and upon reentry to allow them to financially provide for themselves and families once they gain release. We have developed specific steps for the successful development of career development and reentry programs for the 5 main entities involved in this most important endeavor: 1) Families, 2) Colleges, 3) Corrections, 4) Employers and 5) Agencies. We have built a library of recommendations for developing successful programs in all of these areas we like to share with anyone who is interested for their communities.
