I created and teach two new courses: Computer Mapping Technologies and Intro to Cyber-Security. The former covers topics such as crowdsourcing, crisismapping, geotagging, and social media monitoring. Both classes have a heavy focus on current events, preparing students for challenges in a technology rich future.

I maintain and upgrade all of the computer systems within the Port Authority Office of Emergency Management - Emergency Operations Centers (EOC). I develop and implement customized web applications to solve the needs of various line-departments, enhancing agency-wide information gathering and sharing. I maintaining the software and database of WebEOC, which is the information sharing network within the agency, spanning multiple line depratments (airports, tunnels, police etc.) and hundreds of unique positions which control access to edit and view specific data.

I worked closely with the four co-founders, filling in gaps in areas such as communications, accounting, marketing, logistics, research, writing, and project management. I helped the company achieve 17 projects & training sessions across 11 countries, a successful global expert’s conference, and the incubation of 4 startup businesses. Through successful Facebook advertising, the production 3 video documentaries, and the maintenance of company blog / social media pages I helped increase average quarterly site sessions by 115%, Twitter followers by 250%, and Facebook likes by 500%. I also grew the following of the newly created Nepal Flying Labs Facebook page to 4,500 people in the span of a month via a highly successful ad campaign that netted $0.004 engagements. Lastly I created and maintained customized monthly KPI metrics displayed as visual reports.

I maintained the website of this online community in a technical and administrative capacity. In addition I regularly researched and evaluated UAV (drone) technologies and software for multiple opensource reports. I also created the first version of the Global Drone Regulations Wiki, and carried out extensive UAV regulation research for disaster prone countries.

Greater New York City Area

I was brought on to assist with the city-wide disaster resiliency survey of faith based organizations, which NYDIS was employed to undertake by the NYC Department of Health and Mental Hygiene. The main goal was to research the contact information for congregations, religious/judicatory bodies, and faith-based service providers in NYC. I managed a group of 5 temporary research workers, managed NYDIS's contact data, helped edit survey material, and created mailing labels / mail merge documents.

New York

I worked on a wide range of projects, including humanitarian UAVs, digital volunteering, micro-tasking, classification, and social media analysis. I helped with a successful software product launch by conducting market analysis and research, providing UI feedback/mockups, and writing technical user guides. I helped test various API's though the classification of 1000’s of images by writing Python scripts. I also created a Drone Regulations Wiki for the Humanitarian UAV Network, and conducted research into a variety of UAV related topics.

Greater New York City Area

Worked on strengthening communications networks at a 15,000+ employee corporation, exploring tools such as Intranet, Internet, Mobile Phone Apps, Social Media, and Mass communications services. Developed an emergency social media plan. and created an emergency communications survey. Did data analysis for an emergency transportation plan which I also helped write.
