Responsible for the preparation and management of a strategy for the Discipline that satisfied the current and emerging needs of the Projects in order to improve effectiveness. The management of the overall framework for the development of the Discipline’s staff and professional standards including the approval of staff to undertake Design Licensed and Design Authority roles. The Governance and Quality Control of the application of Discipline’s process and people across the Projects. The provision of Discipline Specialists to assist the Projects with Design Review, Phase Review and Consultancy.

Responsible for Engineering output for the airframe and flight system on Harrier types including export variants, and non-Harrier work discharged within the line of business. Leadership, line management and technical guidance of Design Engineering, Structures Engineering, Aerodynamics, Flight Systems and Airframe Integration on the Harrier programme and work packages on Nimrod MRA4 & Taranis SUAV

Responsible for the Development & Delivery of Support Engineering Solutions and associated contracts including pilots for availability based contracts. Partnering agreements with customers and transformation of engineering team to new methods and processes. Engineering Support to Indian Navy on delivery of Harrier T4i variant.Control account management of various contracts providing engineering input to the monthly Contract Status Reviews and ensuring the engineering data is collected against the agreed and contracted set of performance measures. That risks and opportunities are logged and assigned risks managed, ensuring internal and external customer requirements/expectations are understood and delivered.

Responsible for all structural integrity activities on Harrier types. Introduction of TMK8 and T4i variants, GR7A and GR9 requirements definition and structural re-baseline programme. Responsible for additional role to manage transfer of all engineering staff and work from Dunsfold (on closure) to Farnborough.
