Float is an entertainment company, which develops User Experience (UX) prototypes and interactive experiences for mobile devices, gesture UI, smart TV, and connected platforms. Float pushes emergent technology and platforms through prototype experience design. Co founded in partnership with VFX supervisor/designer John Gaeta in 2010, Float was deeply involved for multiple years in the prototyping and development of the Kinect with Microsoft, both pre- and post- release, and worked closely with Microsoft's Analog group to test and prototype experiences for the platform. We were also involved for a time with Microsoft's early phase AR projects, which eventually contributed to the HoloLens prototype.Some of my accomplishments at Float:· Set up San Francisco facility, including negotiating office lease, organizing all aspects of equipment and technology purchases.· Grew the company from 2 founders to 25 staff members.· Completed initial round of $1 million in seed funding.· Established initial clientele and negotiated contracts.· Doubled revenues each of the first three consecutive years of operations.· Headed sales operations and talent acquisition.· Led client pitch meetings and creative briefs.· Prepared internal budgets, and presented quarterly reports for investors.· Float clientele includes Microsoft, Pepsi, HP, LG, BBDO and others.· Instituted lean startup ideas, such as implementing minimum viable product criteria for Float technology prototypes.The Float team employs a special focus on leveraging proprietary knowledge, methods and tech into compelling content needed within broad markets (apps, games, connected, brand and other experiences).

Reliance recruited me to helm and set up their first Visual Effects facility in the U.S., and use my experience in the Film and VFX industry to spearhead their expansion into the Visual Effects Realm. Reliance is a large Indian conglomerate that has major interest in U.S. and Indian film investment and production, as well as industrial and telecommunications interests. As Director at Reliance Mediaworks VFX:· Set up San Francisco facility, including equipment and technology pipeline.· Led sales and business development, successfully signing three feature film projects in 2009/2010.· Initiated Reliance Mediaworks /Digital Domain partnership discussions, which led to RMW investment in $30m joint venture with Digital Domain.· RMW/Digital Domain deal led to expansion of VFX business into the U.K. and India.· Led training efforts for Mumbai based VFX crew.· Conceived and implemented communication and QA pipeline between Mumbai, L.A., and San Francisco for Visual Effects.· Led on-location VFX Supervision for Robert Redford’s “The Conspirator”.

I co-founded Giant Killer Robots, a visual effects production studio that had grown over eleven productive years from several artists into a facility of 90+ artists and production staff. My company was honored with two Academy Awards, one for Visual Effects, and one for Animation, along with accolades including an additional Academy Award Nomination for VFX, and an Emmy Award in VFX for television.
