All issues were reported into a WW Data Base (Team-Track) and tracked to resolution. Completed GDI projects resulting in over €500K savings to Dell. Savings were achieved by proactively managing OS EOL Transitions, this involved working closely with SCP & ARs to ensure accuracy of Forecasts and the management of material countdown resulting in the minimum E&O costs to Dell.

Worked in the Limerick European Manufacturing Facility (EMF) as a Software Project Manager for both the Desktop and Workstation lines of business. Successfully co-ordinated the introduction of software for new system/peripheral launches. The PM was responsible for all aspects of the project from profile/planning stage to implementation to Factory Launch. Liaised with various teams in the US to ensure that the Software and Hardware components arrived on schedule and as per product specifications. Ensured that Software components were successfully processed through the Development & Validation cycles. Provided support to the various NPI Teams on any software issues discovered either in the Factory or in the Field.Provided project status reports and updates to European Marketing teams and Senior Management.

Sykes / McQueen offered full turnkey localisation, manufacturing, call centre and technical support, services to a number of corporate clients.I managed the localisation activity for Sykes from the Shannon office, this involved working closely with the various localisation teams (translation, graphic, engineering, test) based in Edinburgh. I also performed Engineering and QA functions as the need arose. Co-ordinated all aspects of setting up a software localisation Test Team based in Shannon put in place to test a suite of localised Adobe products. Prepared quotations and received client purchase orders.Compiled localisation kits for translation vendors.Generated project schedules and reports and acted as the main point of contact with the client throughout the project cycle. Ensured that project deadlines and budgets were met.Prepared and tested final Gold Masters and signed off on all localised components (Software, Help, Doc, Collaterals) prior to release to manufacture.Sourced software localisation tools to help expedite the localisation process, reduce costs, increase efficiency and increase speed to market of localised products. Responsible for putting in place a set of localisation procedures, which subsequently led to the successful accreditation of ISO 9002

DCA was a US Multinational company who specialised in the development of a suite of software products known as Emulators that allowed PCs to connect to Mainframes. I initially worked with the Internationalisation group whose responsibility it was to ensure that the European versions of the products would function in the various European environments.I was involved in testing that correct functionality (keyboard, file transfer, character sets, etc...) had been added to the European versions of the products and this involved working with various engineering groups in the US. I gained a good understanding of the pressures that are involved in developing a product for the International market.Managed the localisation of DCA’s core emulator products into the main European languages, localised products eventually accounting for over 40% of European sales.Published a suite of keyboard templates and file transfer tables that were subsequently shipped with the localised versions of the products.

Taught Computers and Mathematics to all grades. I found teaching offered me a unique opportunity to meet people of all nationalities and get exposure to different cultures.Setup and ran a computer lab consisting of over 30 Apple Macs
