Founded POKE Softworks to perform consulting work and mobile app development, named as a portmanteau and reference to the historic BASIC language (PEEK and POKE). ● Developed a polished and responsive hybrid HTML5 mobile app using Cordova with Android and iOS as targets that is indistinguishable from native apps. Deployed to Android and iOS app stores (2015- 2017). ● For St. Ann’s Community (Rochester NY) - Replaced legacy admissions document processing system costing $70K per year with a perpetually licensed, efficient, user-friendly custom solution. Developed “Clipper,” a multi-process clustered Node.js app with a responsive HTML5 front end, ADFS single sign on, Active Directory integration, browser-native PDF viewing and graphical page splitting, disconnected operation, administrative views, productivity statistics, and workflow reassignment. Fixed bugs as contribution to the Microsoft Passport-Azure-AD open source project for JavaScript. ● For Champion Billet (Lake Elsinore, CA) - Developed a cloud-based, native Android e-commerce app to provide live camera and photographic previews of overlapping product options on the customer’s race car. (SQLite, Android, Java, Rush ORM, AWS Elastic Beanstalk, AWS Lambda, GSON, AWS API Proxy, AWS S3, BigCommerce RESTful API, ExpressJS, BoofCV, Picasso, RecyclerView, NDK)● For an Unnamed Startup (Encinitas, CA) Brought into an undocumented and chaotic technical environment with significant performance issues. Rewrote Node.js server platform back-end in 17 hours to rescue a failed client demo and improve performance, leveraging clustering and TDD methods. Introduced test management and reached 86% test coverage for system handling 300 requests/second on a small AWS server. Optimized MongoDB queries. Rapidly ramped up on MongoDB, Apple Push Notifications, Loggly, Mongoose, Amazon EC2 and S3.

● For an e-commerce client - Provided technical leadership as a Scrum master, .NET Core developer, and Cloud Architect. Developed Azure Resource Group templates in JSON format with VM Scale Sets that use custom shell and Puppet scripts to deploy .NET Core 1.1 REST services. Led AuthN technology selection, AuthZ ABAC system design, and contract-first RESTful service design using RAML with Mustache-based POCO generation (as part of a CI workflow).● For a real estate client - Served as project manager using Kanban Agile processes to support a real estate client rebranding and migration. Delivered pilot project two weeks prior to due date. Provided hands-on support to team and built custom .NET tool to create a map of existing services, stored procedures and data types, and documentation of those services in Swagger using Roslyn.● For an imaging and printing client - Performed PCI Compliance code review following OWASP Code Review Guide v2 and PCI DSS for client’s payment gateway. Identified risks, interviewed developers, and performed code crawling based on attack surface. Delivered work early and exceeded expectations.

Team Leader, Architect, and Developer embraces the innovative aspect of working for a research division. Develops next generation printing software with convergence and services integration for the XOA (Extensible Open Architecture) platform. Technical lead for development projects with upper management visibility and global exposure. Identified critical API quality control issues and created a multi-faceted toolset that inspired major process changes to focus on quality. Designed, implemented, tested, and documented the tool for a complex REST interface, exposed by embedded devices, that was readily adopted enterprise wide, as the global corporate standard.Led development of a test framework for OSGi based embedded software Java API with embedded agent and external orchestration tool. Features included automatic collection of code coverage data on embedded system and transfer to orchestration tool, reporting, and integration with Jenkins. (Java, OSGI, XML, XSLT, Sockets, Jenkins, etc). Led team effort in defining API with over 1800 types and 1200 operations. Completed project 3 months early, despite limited team resources. (WebIDL, XSLT, NodeJS + NPM , Mocha, Chai, WebStorm, WebSockets, WebWorkers, HTML5 File API)o Implemented 80% of the API layer by attaching metadata to Web IDL API spec, with a custom NodeJS code generation tool (AMD/RequireJS, ExpressJS, NodeWebkit, Karma).

Design, Development, and Testing of C++ Software for government subcontracts utilizing MFC, XML, and DirectXLed a team in developing a sophisticated and extensible configuration user interface and visualization tool for a Microwave Radar system utilized by NASA. (Visual C++, C, DirectX, MFC, X86 Assembly, WIn32, UML).Designed, developed, and tested highly configurable 2D mapping applications that integrated publicly available USGS and US Census/TIGER data. Developed architectural approach for follow on updates. (Visual C++, MFC, GEOS geometry lib, GDAL - Geospatial Data Abstraction Library, PROJ, UML).Developed scientific visualization software, in a team environment, for the interactive simulation of GPS signal reception, used as an embedded device within the Exoatmospheric Kill Vehicle (EKV). Optimized GPS simulation code, simulated satellite position in earth orbit, integrated antenna simulation code, and produced dashboard visualization.
