It was just over 23 years ago that I founded Surface Impression. The company name was chosen to reflect that design often serves shallow, short term commercial objectives (resulting in socially and environmentally destructive products*) and also that digital mostly happens through that single pane of glass that sits between producer and user. It is there that we make our Impression.In the many many years that have passed since 2001, I have felt privileged to work with so many amazing cultural sector and non profit organisations - as well as highly talented team members, artists and other creative practitioners.
