Dr. Peter Phung is a board-certified hospice and palliative care physician and the Director of the Palliative Care at Keck Medicine of USC. Dr. Phung completed his internal medicine residency at Scripps Mercy Hospital in San Diego. He then completed both his Palliative Medicine fellowship, and Master of Business Administration at UC San Diego. Prior to entering medicine, Dr. Phung completed a computer science degree at UC Irvine.In 2017, Dr. Phung co-founded the UCLA 3 Wishes Program, a program that fulfills a dying patient’s final wishes with the goal of humanizing the dying experience.Dr. Phung’s focus, since joining UCLA in 2016, has been on quality improvement and developing system-level solutions to integrate and increase access to Palliative Care across the health system. Interests: Health System Quality Improvement, Hospital Information Technology, Patient transitions to Hospice, Improving End of Life Care, Intersection of Oncology and Palliative Care.
