Throughout my 30+ years in public affairs, including Federal and State service in communication, internet and social media management, government and legislative relations and crisis communication, I have been able to draw from the rich diversity of my colleagues, utilizing their expertise and backgrounds as a way to enhance a vibrant, comprehensive communications program. This team approach has served to maximize my efforts to improve public affairs, creating succinct messaging appropriate for specific internal and external target audiences while ensuring local and national goals and objectives are aligned. I have improved branding, education and promotion efforts, utilizing the most appropriate tools available to maximize both traditional and online methods of information distribution in order to inform and engage both staff and the public. In each of the positions I have held, I have been successful in growing, updating and improving the public affairs program, taking full advantage of all the tools available, including the use of Intra-Internet, social media and various forms of electronic communications. I have been successful in completely changing the reputation of the Albany VA since being hired in 2006 and have been chosen to lead several national and regional messaging and marketing projects. My experience in Congressional and NYS legislative offices has provided me invaluable insight to legislation, regulations and various NYS programs. I strongly embrace teamwork, loyalty and ethics and am an enthusiastic, quick-study, always ready to immerse myself in a new task or challenge.
