About Peter Radoll
I am a strategic leader with a broad skillset and background. I specialise in Leadership, First Nations, Equity and Inclusion with a record of successful outcomes in several dynamic and challenging environments, while strengthening organisational growth. I am results focused, team-orientated, with a consultative style, I am acknowledged as an empathetic leader.Starting my career in a rural New South Wales automotive dealership, I developed skills as a motor mechanic—learning hard work, attention to detail, and problem-solving. Transitioning to the Royal Australian Electrical and Mechanical Engineers, I embraced military life, discovering discipline, resilience, and camaraderie, instilling in me a profound sense of duty and purpose. Venturing into academia, I pursued higher education with enthusiasm, earning undergraduate, master's, and PhD degrees. Now, as a Professor of Information Technology, I disseminate knowledge and mentor future leaders. Throughout my journey, I've embraced life's transformations, recognizing each step as a shaping force in my evolution. Looking ahead, I anticipate the unknown with courage, resilience, and enduring curiosity. There are many things I am proud of in my career, the two most outstanding are:• Negotiated an Australian First Partnership between Victoria University and Our Watch to address gender-based violence. In response to the urgency emphasised by the Universities Australia National Student Safety Survey, I collaborated with students, staff, and university executives to form a five-year partnership with Our Watch, national leaders in preventing violence against women. This pioneering collaboration, a first in Australian higher education, integrates Our Watch's Educational for Equality framework across our university, promoting equality in all aspects of our operations to combat gender-based violence—a community effort.• Implemented Chosen Names usage across all Victoria University student and staff systems. After noting feedback on a lack of a sense of belonging, I proposed to the university the implementation of a chosen name system for students and staff. I conducted a cost-benefit analysis and assessed project scope and expenses. A consultation process was initiated to gather feedback on approach and system requirements, receiving overwhelmingly positive responses. Modifications to twenty-eight information systems were deemed necessary. Consequently, staff and students can now use their chosen names and pronouns across university systems, promoting inclusivity at Victoria University.
Listed skills include Research, Higher Education, Public Speaking, Policy, and 34 others.
