He began learning piano when he was six, and began studying percussion when he was 11. Peter has performed competitively with his high school marching band and winter percussion ensemble, where he has played auxiliary percussion, marimba, vibraphone, marching bass drum and marching tenors. He has competed at various Individual and Ensemble (I&E) competitions across Colorado. Peter was a performer in the CSU percussion ensembles and the University Orchestra and was a member of the World Class Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble. Some of his most notable teachers include Fred Bowlus, Shilo Stroman, Dr. James David and Dr. Eric Hollenbeck.Peter currently performs on drumset with Then I Fly and guitar/aux percussion with Occam's RosePeter has been teaching private lessons since 2012. His students have gone on to study music and have become members of the Blue Knights Percussion Ensemble and Rise Percussion. In 2014, he was a member of the instructional team for the Chaparral High School Marching Band. He also is a founding member of the Northern Colorado Academy for Marching & Percussion (NOCO AMP).As a composer, Peter has written for a number of different ensembles since his second year of high school.
