My primary duties with the Sie Center were website management and event planning. I oversaw psm.du.edu, the website for the Private Security Monitor, an ongoing research project into the governance of private military and security companies (PMSC). In this capacity I kept the website up to date with the latest research from the private, public and nonprofit sectors, as well as making changes as needed to the site layout.I also provided critical support to the Sie Center's Associate Director in event planning, including the October 2013 conference “The Role of Non-violent Strategies in Violent Contexts,” which brought together over two dozen experts from academia, business, government, and international organizations and non-profits to discuss issues surrounding civil resistance to violent repression.

As a fact-checker for CQ Weekly, I collaborated with reporters and editors to ensure that stories met the highest standards of accuracy prior to publication. I covered two "beats"​ for the magazine: Commerce and Industry, which included science, space, technology, energy, environment, transportation and agriculture policy; and Defense, which included defense, foreign affairs, intelligence and homeland security. The Knowlegis database of congressional staff information was a key revenue source for the company. I personally oversaw its maintenance, keeping names, legislative responsibilities and contact information accurate at the 95-97% level across tens of thousands of data points. I also led quarterly data-gathering surveys to each and every legislative office on Capitol Hill. I wrote a weekly round-up of congressional floor action for the online publication MegaVote, featured on CQ's congress.org website. MegaVote averaged 300,000 readers weekly. I also wrote several profiles of Members of Congress for the biannual congressional almanac Politics in America.

As Congressman McMahon's Special Assistant for energy and enviroment issues, I was responsible for crafting legislative proposals; liaising with representatives from industry, NGOs and think tanks; and keeping abreast of the latest developments in relevant committees and on the House floor. I also coordinated all logistical matters regarding the Congressman's DC schedule and arranged his transportation between Washington and Staten Island, NY.

As a front office staffer, I regularly engaged with constituents over the phone and in person - answering questions about everything from pending legislation to the best time to see the cherry blossoms. I arranged tours of historic sites such as the Capitol, White House and Library of Congress for constituents visiting Washington. I also led tours of the Capitol to visiting families, students and scout troops. Leading these tours was great hands-on experience interacting with our constituents. The personal touch also reflected well on our office.

I was one of the primary support staff for Edison's election day exit poll for the 2008 elections, which every four years ranks as one of the largest single-day surveys ever conducted. Initially I helped build the sample by researching historical election outcomes, turnout data and election law down to the precinct level in several different states. Once the sample was finalized, I was responsible for hiring over 250 people across five states for exit polling duty. I accomplished this by placing ads in places as diverse as college job boards, county employment offices, libraries and churches. I conducted interviews and training sessions over the phone with each individual I hired. On election day the people I trained and hired successfully conducted the exit poll in every state I was responsible for.

I taught most subject areas for grades 5-12. I spent the most time on 8th grade biology and AP European history.
