Scepter, Incorporated is a satellite-based atmospheric monitoring and data collection company. I am currently building an enterprise-scale software architecture for data collection and presentation of atmospheric earth observation with a special focus on air pollution data collected from a proposed constellation of 21 near-earth-orbit satellites, correlated with data collected in aerial and ground-based networks. Primary software technologies are Python with numerical and scientific libraries, databases such as Oracle, MySQL (and others). My role includes development of software architecture, hands-on programming, and preparation of U.S. and international patent applications. Six US and international patents have been awarded, of which I am the principal author.

Worked on data engineering, data visualization and software programming for the Keck Telescope Observational Archive. Built interactive Website front-end for Archive usage metrics and reporting.Coding in Python, Oracle/SQL, HTML5, CSS3, and Javascript.

Raytheon was contracted with National Science Foundation and Ocean Leadership to rebuild the user interface for the Ocean Observatories Initiative (OOI). OOI is a multi-year, national-scale scientific observational network focused on taking data from the ocean. Led a team of five people in the technical development of a new Web user interface for OOI. In additional to creating new software architecture for the user interface, I designed and implemented the Web-enabled user interface. Key technologies included Javascript single-page-application frameworks such as Backbone and Bootstrap, as well as jQuery and Underscore. Server-side technologies used include Python and PostgreSQL.

Vertum Partners provides data analysis and consulting services to atmospheric scientists and the wind energy industry. I designed, architected, and programmed a data-delivery system which enables scientists to identify and download wind model data originating from anywhere in the world, for any time during the last thirty years, through a Web interface. This system is currently in use. My role included IT (server) management, data engineering, and programming. Key technologies used: Python, MySQL, HTML, and Javascript.

Spent two years hands-on, building a home-built aircraft. Extensive machine shop experience.• Concept-designed a complete 78-ft research ship.• Product design of Muon Tomography scanner systems, especially mechanical and electromechanical systems.

Decision Sciences is a hardware/software company which develops counter-terrorism products. It is focused on security scanners and related software for scanning cargo containers used in international trade. The company's systems use Muon Tomography, a newly evolving technology for passive imaging. I had responsibility for the design and development of software architecture and contributing responsibility for systems analysis and design of the Company’s major products. I have sole authorship of three provisional patent applications pertaining to technology in the high-energy physics field of Muon Tomography.
