About Peter Shepard

Mr. Shepard is Assistant Operating Director of the Southern Ute Growth Fund, the business arm of the Southern Ute Indian Tribe. In this role he is responsible for the oversight of GF Properties Group, which owns and manages a diverse commercial and multifamily real estate portfolio, and Kava Equity Partners, which is focused on direct PE investments in middle market operating companies. Previously, Peter was COO & CFO of Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners (formerly JCR Capital Investment Corporation), a Denver-based real estate private equity firm. Earlier in his career, Peter was founder and Managing Director of Athena Business Solutions, a CFO consultancy focused on PE and M&A, and sister company First Business Partners, an out-sourced back-office administration firm. Peter has also held the role of President & CEO of CapTerra Financial Group, Inc. a publicly traded real estate finance company, and worked in Venture Capital for GE Capital and CR Technologies. Peter received an MS from the Massachusetts Institute of Technology, a JD from Cornell Law School and a BA from New York University.Peter is a Board Director of Arrowhead Contracting and former Board Director of JCR Capital Investment Corp/Walker & Dunlop Investment Partners, CapTerra Financial Group, Inc. (CPTA.OB), Crystal Clear Rx, Inc. Constellation Real Technologies, LLC, ePropertyTax, Inc. (Thomson Reuters), Accruent, Inc. and eProject, Inc. (Daptiv).
