Peter was contracted to manage the Victoria State Emergency Service’s core Operations Information Management System (OIMS – Emergency Task Management) transitioning from “Implementation” to “Maintenance” phases. This involved preparing and reviewing internal processes and standards for maintenance releases; application testing strategies; Design, Implementation, Change Management and Enhancement policies and procedures, employing strong liaison with the software vendor as well as the application's business owners.

During this time, Peter travelled the state, training Volunteers and staff in the operation of the Victoria State Emergency Service’s core Operations Information Management System (OIMS – Emergency Task Management).

Peter managed up to 30 staff involved in providing technical testing services within Telstra. This included Performance testing, creation of Test Strategies for projects, and provision of Integrated Test Environments for the System Integration Testing (SIT) phases of up to 200 concurrent projects. He was identified as the Subject Matter Expert (SME) to provide input into Telstra’s systems development methodology, TDP, for his Project Management and Testing knowledge. Peter was selected to develop and deliver the “TDP for Testers and Project Managers” instructor-led 1 day course for Project Managers and testing staff (approx. 250 staff), and then to consult as the SME to create the online (self paced) version of the same course.

Peter worked as a solution architect on a number of various projects, primarily in the Network Systems Architecture space. This required Peter to leverage existing architectures to find solutions for new products and services within the Ordering, Provisioning, Activation, Service-Assurance and Billing domains.
