I am a system architect mainly focused on OAM aspects of ip.access small cell solutions. My responsibilities include: writing functional and design specifications for product features, system analysis to identify design and implementation problems in performance, scalability etc., and designing, prototyping and demonstrating solutions using Java, Groovy and Javascript. I have developed services and components including web GUIs, web service interfaces, data access components, and protocol stacks.

I designed and built simulators and tools to performance test and monitor the 3G HnbGw and OAM components of a small cell solution. I developed an access point and mobile phone simulator for automated performance testing, simulating real network conditions. I worked on Java implementations of 3GPP signalling protocols (including NAS and RANAP, RUA) and other standard userplane and management protocols (e.g. RTP, GTP and TR-069), and built web front ends and databases to control and monitor simulations.

I worked on various projects within Cisco’s Network Management Technology Group. I worked on network management applications for MPLS networks, and broadband provisioning systems. These products are widely deployed in the telecoms and cable industries. My responsibilities included: producing design documentation, prototyping new approaches and technologies for use in the product, designing and implementing major system components using enterprise Java, JBoss, Websphere, and Oracle.I worked with a small agile team to build a new version of a broadband provisining system using EJB3, JBoss and Oracle. The goal of the project was to define a new architecture for the product to meet new customer requirements and resolve long-standing issues. The product was a performance-critical system, and mission-critical to customers. Both high-performance and high-availability were key criteria, along with ease of development and rich functionality.
