Program Guide And Individual Mentor For Exploring One'S Unique Soul Calling

Current
Peter Scanlan, Http://Www.Peterscanlan.Com/

I was a senior guide for the Animas Valley Institute for 15 years and led many nature-based programs, including vision quests. Since 2015 I have been self-employed and continue to guide a number of nature-based programs. These programs involve individual wanders on the land, sharing the stories in the context of the group of participants and having the stories mirrored back without interpretation. The group participates in group processes to facilitate the opening into the deep imagination.

Soulcraft Guide And Mentor

Working with a mentor or coach can be invaluable in the ongoing journey to soul. Because our culture has so little support for soul work, one of the most valuable experiences that I offer as a mentor is to listen deeply to the unfolding story of your journey, and to serve as a mirror—reflecting, without interpretation, the unique aspects of your path, honoring the steps taken, helping gather the insights and meaning of what has unfolded, and assisting in co-creating the tasks of the next steps. Mentoring sessions also often provide increased support and motivation for completing tasks. Mentoring sessions are by phone, Facet Time or Skype. Frequency of sessions is determined by the mentee. If you are interested in exploring whether mentoring is right for you, please contact me by email (peterscanlan@comcast.net). Possible aspects of mentoring:Nature-based work using the four-direction Map of the Psyche as described by Bill Plotkin in his book, "Wild Mind";Coming into embodied connection with the story of your wounding discover the gifts embedded there;Discovering the mythic elements of your deeper life story;Enhancing your wholeness;Exploring ancestral energies and influences;Tasks on the land between sessions;Dream work;Deep imager;yShadow work;Exploration of the decision to take the journey of death/rebirth in order to discover your core self, the bigger story of your life that reveals the unique gifts you carries for your people;Follow-up work for those who have enacted a vision quest or for those who want to incorporate soulcraft practices into any kind of personal work that they have already done;"Do not now seek the answers, which cannot be given you — because you would not be able to live them. And the point is, to live everything. Live the questions now. Perhaps you will then gradually, without noticing it, live along some distant day into the answers.' Self Employed Guide Of Nature-Based Ancestral Programs

Peter Scanlan, Http://Www.Peterscanlan.Com

Nashville, Tn

In 2015 I with Annie Bloom, a co-guide and former guide of the Animas Valley Institute, developed a five-day program to facilitate the exploration of how our personal ancestral heritage and the energies of that heritage influence our present lives. The title of the program, "Healing Ancestral Wounds and Accessing the Gifts of Ancestral Heritage Through Landscape and the Deep Imagination", suggests the dual thrusts of the program. The effects of the losses, unresolved grief, and other emotional heaviness comes down through the generations as a burden that affect us below the level of our awareness, often in ways that are limiting and harmful. Honoring and touching into those energies can bring an often surprisingly powerful transformation to our way of being in the world. The second focus of the program is to gain access to the gifts of our ancestral heritage. These might include resources and strength, valuable support in difficult times, and lost connection to unique cultural forms and expressions.Knowledge of the "facts" of one's ancestry is not a pre-requisite. Through our relationship with the land and her beings and through the enhancement of our exquisite deep imagination, we will be working for the most part with a less tangible aspect of the ancestral story, a different level of "reality". During the program there is ample opportunity to wander the wild landscape of the program's location, listening with our hearts and imaginations to the ancestral energies, engaging with them, and embodying them in story, movement, and images. Between wanders we weave poetry, council, deep imagery, embodiment and mirroring practices, ceremony and dream work to court the ancestors and sort the threads of our personal and collective stories. In these ways we will invite the numinous to dialoge with us as we seek a deepened self- understanding, find lost heirlooms, and bring balm to ancient wounds.See website for information: http://www.peterscanlan.com.

Senior Guide

Animas Valley Institute At Http://Www.Animas.Org

The primary goal and method of all Animas Valley Institute programs is the encounter with soul. Founded in 1980 by psychologist and wilderness guide Bill Plotkin, Ph.D., the Institute is one of North America's longest-standing organizations offering contemporary wilderness rites. AVI programs are quite different than those offered by most other wildemess organizations, rites of passage guides, and colleges and universities. What we offer is not primarily rites of passage, wilderness-based psychotherapy or even ecotherapy. Our work is nature-based soul-initiation, whose central goal is the descent to soul for the purpose of maturing or deepening the ego, rather than healing it. Our programs are not designed to help people fix or solve problems in their current lives. Our goal is to help people transform their lives in such a way that they live and love more from their depths -- as opposed to merely being better adjusted or happier living in the surface world in which our contemporary culture specializes. Another way to say this is that our work is not primarily personal or interpersonal, although it includes some of both of those, but rather transpersonal -- in the sense of deepening into our connection with soul.
