I am the Chief Digital Officer at BBD, a premier custom software development company. With more than 24 years of experience in the ICT industry, 20 of which have been at BBD, I have a thorough grasp on technology and where the industry is going, at both a strategic architecture and detailed design level. With the extensive knowledge, I’ve gained, I have added value to projects across the banking, insurance and financial sectors. I have also been involved in assisting numerous companies in identifying and implementing solutions to improve their IT and digital competencies, as well as performing IT diagnostic health assessments to improve many companies’ IT departments. My passion, however, lies in designing custom development enterprise for all digital platforms. I have an MSc in Computer Science from the University of the Witwatersrand, where I conducted comprehensive research into robotic motion planning. Before joining BBD, I worked for a software vendor managing projects for a large South African bank. Committed to doing my part to bolster the industry and share the learnings I’ve been privileged to gain, I serve on several advisory boards. As a BBD representative, I am an avid supporter of WeThinkCode_, a non-profit organisation dedicated to closing the digital skills gap and developing skilled ICT professionals in South Africa. I am married with twins, a pigeon pair who keep me very busy. In my spare time, I enjoy playing tennis and travelling with my family.
