CurrentTS/SCI Full-scope Poly- Developed Bluetooth Low Energy embedded device for anonymized contact tracing as an experimental prototype. Wrote and Cross-compiled C using Linux toolchains to build firmware images. Optimized flash memory utilization based on data offloading requirements. Tested and analyzed range and effectiveness of BLE device.- Developed Ansible playbooks for backend infrastructure deployment to support the anonymized contact tracing effort. Automatically provisioned containers, deployed software, and distributed certificates and keys to infrastructure.- Developed applications to enable analysis of network protocols using Rust. Evaluated various network protocols and their utilization in networks, then wrote custom parsers for these protocols for analysis tooling.- Conducted research involving reverse engineering embedded firmware for network devices. Performed binary analysis using tools like Ghidra and wrote scripts to automate analysis tasks.- Utilized Terraform and Packer for application infrastructure on the OpenStack platform and network configurations on Cisco ACI. Deployed various applications as Packer built images to VMs in OpenStack.- Designed and scripted virtual cloud deployments utilizing Libvirt, OpenVSwitch, and OpenStack. Separately, designed a scalable, physical datacenter for hosting an OpenStack platform utilizing Cisco ACI, MAAS/Juju, and OpenStack. Design considerations included preparation using Ceph for storage, Network partitioning for security, and bare-metal provisioning for scaling.- Supported various research projects performing Linux systems administration task, configuring network appliances, and configuring Linux servers for my own projects as well as other researchers. - Constructed Docker-compose configurations and constructed Dockerized applications.- Mentored interns for summer project geared towards evaluating OpenStack's internal network and developing statistical models for detecting anomalies.
