In the 15 years that Peter worked to establish and run this consultancy he was involved in helping managers and directors of many large and mid-sized companies understand and control the risks that their businesses faced. The types of Consulting Projects included:• Risk Assessments addressing: o Projects – from small builds to billion dollar new facility planning, construction and operation o Natural Environment – working with subject matter experts to crystallise sources of harm and define strategies and approaches to allow Project Proponents to generate the lowest possible impact and gain approval o Change – of processes or plant, identifying clashing effects and o Machinery – applying technical and behavioural “tools” to allow designers and manufacturers to prepare low risk plant and document residual risks and required controls for End Users• Investigations – identifying causal pathways and root causes of significant losses• Audits – proof testing organisational controls to confirm rigour and identify improvement opportunities• Training – in technical and operational risk management, hazard identification and compliance / duty of care

All of the earlier positions Peter was involved in added to his technical skill set or understanding of Organisational issues. PEG was largely technical in nature – with the development of resources and establishment of a web platform.

Organisational understanding – particularly the need for agility in smaller sized businesses.

Generated both Technical and Organisational career events – with exposure to environmental science, engineering solution development and critical plant reviews AND workings of government and inter-agency approval processes.
