National Aids Coordinating Agency / African Comprehensive Hiv/Aids Partnerships
Seconded to the Government of Botswana through the African Comprehensive HIV/AIDS Partnerships (ACHAP), a public-private partnership between the Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation, Merck Company Foundation, and the Botswana Government. Occupies a senior management position within the National AIDS Coordinating Agency to advise the National Coordinator and other key officials, including Cabinet Ministers, industry heads, and civic leaders on strategic and policy issues regarding HIV and AIDS.Key responsibilities have included the development of Botswana’s 2nd National Strategic Framework for HIV/AIDS 2009-2016; the review and redrafting of Botswana’s National Policy on HIV and AIDS; the Mid-Term Review (MTR) of the Botswana National Strategic Framework for HIV/AIDS 2003-2009; and developing a national strategy for HIV/AIDS mainstreaming, spearheading the move to mainstreaming as a management approach.
