The UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre Sdn Bhd (UCSI BOSRC) is the Official Regional Representative of Blue Ocean Strategy Businesses and has the Exclusive Regional License in Malaysia, Australia, Canada, China, India, Indonesia, Philippines, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand. UCSI BOSRC provided training, coaching and consulting for Blue Ocean Strategy. I am one of the founding members of the company and a Certified Blue Ocean Strategy Practitioner. I lead a team of consultants who specialise in providing training and consulting in Blue Ocean Strategy for various clients in the Asia Pacific Region. I am also the programme director of a Blue Ocean Strategy MBA Programme.

UCSI is a leading private university in Malaysia. My role was to help the group in strategic management and in identifying new business ventures. I planned and started the Laurent Bleu Skin Science Centre and the UCSI Foundation during this time. I was also involved in the start up of UCSI Blue Ocean Strategy Regional Centre.

Sekolah Sri Sedaya is a private, co-educational primary and secondary school. I was involved in the planning and set up of the school from its inception. I started and built up the school from scratch and had overall responsibility for the management of the school. I remain as a director and shareholder of the school.

TVR Sports (Malaysia) Sdn Bhd was formed in March 1995. It is involved in the manufacturing and distribution of TVR sports cars. I was the first employee at the company and was involved in all aspects of the project right from the feasibility study stage. These include: application of licenses, recruitment of key staff, plant design and layout, sales and marketing planning and overall management. The project is a very significant milestone in the Malaysian Motor Industry. The company is listed in the Malaysian Boon of Records as the first manufacturer (not just an assembler) of high-performance sports cars in the country. The project implementation from feasibility to pilot production took 8 months, a record of some sort. I was also responsible for planning the launch of the TVR Chimaera by the Prime Minister of Malaysia at Shah Alam Circuit. The launch was a resounding success and generated front page coverage in all the Malaysian newspapers and magazines. I was also responsible in opening the export markets to several overseas markets like Singapore, South Africa, United Arab Emirates and Cyprus.

Cycle and Carriage Bintang Berhad is a public listed company whose main business is the assembly and distribution of vehicles. I was initially employed by CCB to implement the expansion of the assembly plant of CCB to allow for assembly of Mazda vehicles alongside Mercedes Benz assembly lines. After the project, I was retained to manage the plant. During this time, I had much exposure to both German and Japanese manufacturing practices. I was involved in starting up the assembly of Mercedes Benz S-class and C-class passenger cars. I also initiated the formation of Q.C. circles at the plant. In September 1992, I was posted to the Mazda Division as Deputy General Manager to handle the sales and marketing of Mazda vehicles. Together with the G.M., I had overall responsibility of managing the sales and marketing functions. Some of the significant events and projects I was involved in are: clearing stock of Mazda vehicles, launch of a new Mazda 626, and Mazda road show.

Federal Institute of Technology is the oldest privately owned technical training institute in Malaysia. It offers a range of technical courses at Diploma level. I joined the institute upon my return from New Zealand as Head of School. I was soon promoted to be Director of Engineering School having overall responsibilities in running the institute. Some of the significant contributions I made to the institute are : setting up of Civil Engineering Laboratories; developed, revised and streamlined the curriculum; and negotiated with foreign universities on twinning arrangements. Apart from my normal duties, I also acted as project manager for the building projects of the group.
