Laurel Road Lending - Web portal for the successful lending company Laurel Road (recently merged with international banking giant KeyBank), which enables a complete experience for both applicants and bankers. Borrowers can apply to refinance their current student loans, start a new student loan while they’re still in school, or take out a personal loan. The web portal takes them through the entire application process, including uploading necessary documents, signing the final documents, and receiving payment electronically. The bankers have all the tools needed to manage each application closely, including requesting and managing documents, changing and approving debt and employment, managing perks associated with different companies, and approving and sending payments. It is a massive application with many moving parts, rigorous security requirements, and huge financial complexity.- 100% remote, keeping in close contact with team using Slack, Google Meet, and Zoom.- Utilize Google Cloud Services for cloud storage needs.- Improved skills in working with financial code, algorithms, and security.- Deepened skills with React, building and improving the user interface experience.- Facilitate communication and synergy between multiple teams of specialized developers.

MyBSSM - Web portal for the massive Bethel School of Supernatural Ministry in Redding, California that provides a complete experience for students and staff. Students apply, pay, attend class, do homework, and sign up for ministry trips using the application. Staff review applications, interview applicants, accept or deny applicants, communicate with students in their courses, grade homework, track class attendance,, and run their ministry trips from the site. It does everything.- 100% remote for six years, keeping in close contact with team using Slack and Zoom.- Utilize Capistrano and Digital Ocean to deploy monolithic Ruby on Rails application.- Working towards being more focused on microservices using API design paradigm.- Constantly updating Ruby, HAML, CSS3 (Bootstrap), JQuery, Javascript (Coffeescript), YAML to keep codebase clean, efficient, and bug free.
