About Peter Hilton

I’m drawn to great storytelling—on the page, on stage, on screen, and through lived experience. At heart, stories reward curiosity about others and build empathy between us. I trained in community theatre. I’ve enjoyed front-line service, administration, and activism in the arts and heritage. More recently, I’ve developed characters, stories and concepts for television. At every stage, I’ve met and worked with inventive and generous people who share my passions. I’ve worked for The Barbican Centre, Sydney Opera House, Disney, The Tussauds Group and York Museums Trust. At The Open Group, I help to create projects for television, culture and the community.Having returned to Sydney, I want to help welcome audiences back to the performing arts. Together, we can reconnect through distinct and shared Australian voices and stories.
