Ensure that our customers are aware of the broad portfolio while ensuring that our Sales team are positioning the right product for the customer requirement. It requires a broad knowledge of Servers, Storage, Networking and all the peripheral hardware and software to support the right solution.Core functions included Sales Enablement, Program and Campaign management, Content production and customer engagement.

Customer Service Manager helping the organisation transition from a proprietary hardware vendor in the telecommunications segment to a complete solution provider in the Unified Communications arena. The organisations core skills were centred on telecommunications and needed to move to much broader data network centric model. With a team of 25 engineers reporting to me the key challenge was broadening the skill-set of the team while maintaining a high level of service to the existing customer base.

Eire Systems was without doubt the biggest challenge I ever faced. The Irish operation was small and struggling. I joined only two months after the Lehman collapse which had left a big hole in the parent company's books. We worked hard to broaden the business but operating costs were a heavy burden and commitments to existing customers left very little time for business development. Managing the complete operation was a great experience.

5 great years with a great company. We went from 130 staff when I joined to over 600 when I left. Great culture, full of people with not only energy and a vision but also the strategy to realise the vision. Led so many projects that it would be impossible to list. I would say my greatest achievement was growing the team from 2 to 11 with a near zero turnover rate.We grew from two offices to 5 on 4 continents all linked by VoIP over an MPLS network.

Modus was fantastic. I moved from SQL administator to Front Office Systems Manager looking after our CRM systems across Europe to eServices Manager which broadened my role to include the management of all web site offerings for Europe. Getting to grips with the technologies involved as well as understanding how to manage relationships with organisations such as Microsoft, Palm, Sony and Adobe.

I joined as an analyst programmer but the position was much more about business analytics. it was here that I first encountered the SEI Capability Matuity Model. Learned a great deal about how a global organisation works and the importance of process but much more importantly I learned how adhering to the process should not be the principle driver for any organisation.

Hard to put this into words and not just because I started there over 20 years ago. This was my first role in IT, having joined Team as an Aircraft Maintenance Engineer. The IT team were young, dynamic and utilising cutting edge technologies. Great experience and really great fun. Every day presented us with new challenges. Very happy days indeed. Not to forget the time on the hangar floor, turning around 747's in less than 18 hours after completing A checks. I became very familiar with the workings of Flaps and the Flap tracks that pulled them in and out.

Cartographical Surveyor, Heavy Goods Vehicle Mechanic and Sub Aqua Diver. It was fun, exciting and in no other organisation would you get the opportunity to do so much.
