CurrentFounded in 1849 and once known as a booming industrial community, Phoenixville has undergone a tremendous renaissance in recent years. Located just 27 miles from Center City Philadelphia, today the thriving Borough of more than 17,500 residents is a vibrant gathering place for millennials and baby boomers alike. Its historic downtown has become a well-known destination for craft breweries, distilleries, eateries, boutiques, and cultural venues. The Borough hosts more than 50 festivals per year and is best known for its Blob and Firebird Festivals. Recent Statistics: Population: ~17,500, Annual Budget of ~$25 million, 3.8 Square Miles with an Assessed Value in 2020 of $801,463,257, 35 miles of water main & 35 miles of sewer main, 2,419 Borough street trees, 49 miles of roadways & 80 miles of sidewalks, 477 intersections and crosswalks, Borough owned Water & Wastewater Processing Plants along with Sanitation & Recycling Services. Lead the Borough of Phoenixville Police Department which is comprised of 31 Full-time police officers and 2 administrators, a fleet of 16 vehicles and responds to ~13,000 calls per year.Lead the Mayor’s Task force on Rail Restoration which is working on a ~$193 to ~$890 million project to restore rail service between the Borough of Phoenixville, Center City Philadelphia, and the City of Reading.Focused on championing several causes including affordable housing, increased services for senior citizens, public transportation, reducing the educational attainment gap for economically disadvantaged families, total equality protections, and environmental sustainability.Coordinated the Borough of Phoenixville’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic in conjunction with the Office of Emergency Management, Borough of Phoenixville Staff, Phoenixville Area School District, Local Non-Profits and Regional Government Partners.
