Projects include the research in new sludge dewatering techniques and the optimization of energy generation and consumption of various production locations in the food, (base) chemical, and mineral process industry.

Optimization and modelling of industrial drying processes based on case studies. Based on these case studies and available theory a model was constructed to facilitate energy calculations and assess energy reducing possibilities.

STOWA research project: Lab research on the technical feasibility of a novel sewage sludge pre-treatment method involving hydrodynamic cavitation through the use of venturi tubes. Tasks during the conducted research include designing experimental apparatus and set-up. Starting-up and controlling anaerobic fermentation reactors. Designing, assembling, and testing a small-scale anaerobic fermentation set-up in order to accurately assess the impact on anaerobic degradtion of a number of parameters.
