Based on research at the Mission Zero (centre of expertise), and combining the talents of Education, Research and Staff, we initiate and manage projects to realize the THUAS sustainability ambitions. Starting with reducing the energy needs of our real estate (Paris Proof 2030), we now focus on reducing our GHG emissions (Zero Emissions 2040) and exploring the feasibility of an energy hub. Next: How Might We help implementing the Climate Neutral 2030 ambitions of The Hague in our neighborhood Laakhavens, and improve SDG 11 challenges in the Laak borough.

As a lecturer in Design & Construction Management (both bachelors and masters courses) in prof. Paul Chang’s ambitious team, I hope to contribute in preparing our MBE students to positively impact the massive challenges in our built environment and become responsible leaders in science, engineering, design and innovation.

To contain the climate crisis we need to eliminate our greenhouse gas emissions ASAP. The most effective and doable measure is to realize 90%-95% of the energy transition by 2040 (= ET2040), basically just a (giant) infrastructure programme. We create and promote solutions that enable project owners, designers, impact financiers and contractors to make this happen. Example: a project preparation facility (PPF) to realize district heating projects before 2040.

CleanTech Suriname is an initiative of five very unique but like-minded professionals with the ambition to provide Suriname with renewable energy while creating investment opportunities for Surinamese and impact investors and developing a cleantech industry, focusing on the rollout of solar parks and rooftops.

Initiatives include district heating, distributed hydrogen, geothermal and biomass plants, sustainable buildings, and affordable housing. Investments drive the transition of energy, water and transportation systems.
