Peter V. Stanton is a public relations professional with 40 years of experience working for diverse clients. He currently heads the strategic communications firm he founded - now in its 30th year. Stanton Communications is a leading mid-sized communications firm with offices in Washington, D.C., New York and Baltimore, Maryland (www.stantoncomm.com) in addition to a global network of partner firms. Peter is a past chair of the international network of independent PR firms, PR World Alliance (www.prworldalliance.com), which he helped to form. Prior to founding his own firm, Peter spent nine years as a V.P. of the international public relations agency MSL/Publicis where he was responsible for legislative and policy communications as well as the creation of that firm’s Washington-based technology marketing communications practice. Earlier, he directed media relations and external communications for the University of Maryland, Baltimore, the school's health professions campus, and worked in state government. Peter is a frequent speaker and writer on communications. He is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America and a member of The National Press Club in Washington, D.C. He has been honored with numerous awards for his communications programs including multiple Silver Anvils and Gold Quills, the highest honors presented in the public relations field.
