Before returning to the final year of my Automation Engineering degree, I was working at Tirlán’s highly automated plant in Belview as part of my industrial placement for my BEng (Hons) in Automation Engineering from SETU Waterford. Gaining hands on experience working alongside the on-site automation engineers, process engineers and maintenance. Similar to my summer internship role with the company, gaining very valuable experience with Rockwell automation software and hardware including Studio 5000, FactoryTalk, ControlLogix and Compact Logix PLCs. Developing PLC code for a live process plant while shadowing on site automation engineers. Developing Python based application to preform data analysis on the sites PLC program & field device data for efficiency / energy optimisation. Involved in design and validation of high value reports for the sites.Completed a 3 month summer internship with Tirlán (Formally Glanbia Ireland) where I was part of the process team in Belview for the busy summer period. I gained experience working on process related automation issues while working with Allen Bradley Controllogix PLC’s and programming with Studio5000. I also got insight to the on-site MES tools and was involved in the validation of various high value reports for the site. Other technologies include Kepware, AspenOne, Ignition and FactoryTalk.I am highly driven and focused individual currently studying a degree in automation engineering at SETU Waterford, I am dedicated to gaining the skills and knowledge necessary to excel in this exciting field. I am always looking for ways to challenge myself, improve my abilities and I am excited to connect with others in the field!
