After three years and many successes, I was promoted by the board of directors to turn around VMS after it experienced declining revenue and severe losses caused by competitor start-up companies. These start-ups had introduced more advanced, lower-priced technology solutions that severely impacted our market share. Something drastic needed to be done to keep VMS afloat and viable.     While I was at WACE Worldwide, I was approached by VMS. They needed a new CFO to bring accountability and implement best practices across all levels of their organization by improving financial reporting, technology, and financial/accounting processes. I made the difficult decision to replace the corporate controller and senior management as well as reducing the staff by 15% through reorganization and streamlining initiatives. I also reduced DSO by implementing a new reporting package. It was under my reigns that we implemented Great Plains along with a new credit/collections system.
