I was appointed as the Engineering Manager for the West Australian branch, providing focus on implementation and ongoing monitoring of the Honeywell Pacific Engineering Standards and best practice in the WA district. This was coupled with taking the technical delivery responsibility for major projects in WA.I had 10 direct reports ranging from graduate engineers to senior engineers.The Engineering Manager role is basically a technical project manager, ensuring that key technical aspects of the project are delivered without risk to time or budget. I was directly responsible for implementing process and tools that would produce efficiency in project delivery. Many of the processes I implemented were then rolled out on a national scale.Achievements – Eastern Goldfields Regional Prison – $15M USDI Led a team of 7 engineers to deliver the security systems at a new 400 bed correctional centre in Kalgoorlie, Western Australia.Crown Towers Hotel & Casino – $10M USDI led a team of 5 engineers to deliver the Security, Fire, BMS & Guest Room Controls packages at this prestigious 6-star hotel & casino in Western Australia.Ravenhall Prison – Melbourne - $50M USDRavenhall Prison is a new 1200 bed Corrections Centre in Melbourne. Our Victorian team needed assistance as the project ramped up to handover, and I was asked to take control of the commissioning program. I spent 3 months in Melbourne during 2017 and successfully handed the prison over to the Government in September 2017.Other Achievements – I was the operations lead for several technical presentations that resulted in $10M USD new business being awarded to Honeywell in Perth. I could draw on my knowledge of successfully delivering Crown Towers to secure new business with Ritz Carlton & Hilton Global, who both awarded Honeywell with project work for their new build hotels in WA.
